faq:

Are these recipes vegan/keto/paleo?

While some of these recipes may fall into those categories, they are not created to fit into any sort of diet. These recipes are focused on traditional whole foods like pastured meats, high quality dairy, properly fermented sourdough bread, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. We believe in balance and nourishment, not restriction.

Are these recipes gluten-free?

Some of these recipes like the pudding cups, tacos, candy clusters, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, hot cocoa, and caramel corn are all gluten-free. The cookies use einkorn flour, a low-gluten ancient wheat while the soft pretzels are traditionally fermented through the sourdough method.

Do I need to be an experienced cook to make these recipes?

Definitely not! Cooking is a skill that anyone can cultivate. The recipes in this ebook will equip you to make nourishing seasonal meals no matter your skill level. If any recipes leave you asking any questions, I welcome emails at hello@calicoandtwine.com.

Will I need any special kind of ingredients?

My baking and cooking style can be described as simple fare. These recipes aren't frilly and they call for common ingredients. You will need cranberries which can be found in nearly every produce section this time of year, as well as einkorn flour. Other than that, you most likely have the basics already in your kitchen! While I do strongly encourage careful consideration of the quality of ingredients used (how they are grown, raised, prepared), most of what you will need is fairly basic and it’s up to you where and how you source it. For example, if pasture-raised meat is not in your budget at this time, no worries! Use what you’ve got. If you’d like to learn more about why I choose the ingredients I do, check out my companion ebook: Traditional Eating.

May your heart and your health be blessed by these recipes!
