Strawberry Nettle Teething Popsicles

These strawberry nettle popsicles are the perfect summertime treat for babies—especially teething babies! Nettle is a highly nutritive herb that is jam packed with necessary vitamins and minerals, including iron. Nettle tea makes the perfect natural electrolyte for hot days, while the frozen element soothes inflamed and painful gums. The strawberries add an ever-so-slight sweetness and seasonal flavor to these popsicles. For older kiddos that are more accustomed to sugar, a touch of raw honey might be a nice addition.

While I made full-sized popsicles for the photos, when making for baby I like to fill the mold only halfway so there is more stick to hold, making the popsicle easier to handle :)

What you need

TO Prepare

  1. Bring water to a boil on the stovetop and pour over the nettle leaves and hibiscus flowers. Cover and let steep for a few hours until it comes to room temperature.

  2. Strain out the herbs and toss in the strawberries. With an immersion blender or high-speed blender, blend on high until smooth and combined.

  3. Strain again to remove strawberry seeds and pulp.

  4. Pour into popsicles molds, add the sticks, and freeze

Super simple to make, full of nutrients, and the perfect treat during painful teething. My 10 month old has been loving these as his top front teeth poke through. The end of the gummy-smile era 🥺 If you make these, let me know how your little one likes them!
