Eating Seasonally: Homemade Summer Salsa

homemade salsa

If I were to be known for anything I would like it to be my salsa. I’m just saying, I make some pretty bomb salsa. I’ve decided that it’s too yummy to keep to myself so I’m sharing my top secret recipe with you! I truly don’t know how it turns out so delicious because it’s so simple! The key: lots of lime and a sprinkle of chili powder. Let’s get into it!

  • 1 can of organic diced tomatoes

  • 1/2 can of green chilis or 1 fresh organic jalapeño

  • A handful of fresh organic cilantro

  • Half of a medium organic red onion

  • Juice of 1 organic lime

  • A few shakes of organic chili powder

  • Sea salt to taste

Dice your jalapeño and onion, and chop your cilantro and place everything in a blender

Pulse the ingredients a few times on low- just until you reach a thinner consistency. You don’t want to do this too much or else the tomatoes will get bubbly.

Store in a glass jar in the fridge and enjoy! This is delicious served simply with chips, or on nachos and tacos.
